Seanchl is a Gaelic font in TrueType format for Windows.
It conforms to the standard for the extended Roman Celtic
code table for Windows (see the article by Michael
Everson entitled Tbla cdla Ceilteacha: caighdein
nua in Feasta, June 1994) except that many characters
which are superfluous in Irish and in Scots Gaelic have
been omitted.

Seanchl is neither freeware nor shareware, but cis-
ware. This means that it may be copied and distributed
without any restriction provided it is accompanied at all
times by this text file. It may also be used free of
charge for the processing or publication of material in
the Gaelic languages. Seanchl may NOT be used for any
other purpose whatever without my prior permission.

The GAELACH.REC macro program (written by Ciarn
Duibhn and available at this site) permits easy use of
the accented vowels and lenited consonants. The following
shortcuts are available with GAELACH.REC:
AltGr+vowel = vowel with an acute accent
AltGr+consonant = consonant with a point of lenition
     Alt+vowel = vowel with a grave accent
     Alt+r = long 'r'
     Alt+s = long 's'
     Alt+Shift+s = long 's' with a point of lenition
Further information on the use of GAELACH.REC can be
found under 'Recorder' in the 'Windows' manual.
